Grilled Chicken "Torpedos"

I'm trying to capture the little things, day to day, that go on around here since I'm no journal writer.... So, tonight I tried a new recipe that everyone enjoyed and that will be repeated again. We made Baked Chicken Taquitos. Of course, I never follow a recipe exactly, but I'm sure if you did it would be just as good (Click on this posts' title for the recipe). During dinner Karsten asked, "Mom, can I have another Torpedo?" He thought we were eating Torpedos.

Also, Theron has come down with a nasty cold/flu. Along with it he's had a really runny nose. This morning Morgan asked if he needed some diaper cream for his nose. You know, to her diaper cream is the cure all (even though she doesn't even wear diapers anymore).

Funny kids. We love them.

100 Days of school!

In Kindergarten, they celebrate the 100th day of school. And it's a big deal that they talk about for a long time coming. The 100th day was yesterday (Friday, the 5th). Karsten came home from school with this headband. The class made 100 of them. All of their activites involved counting to 100 in some fashion. A few other fun things they did:

~100 day snack (they had 10 different snack foods and put 10 of each into a bag so they had 100 pieces of snack)

~They each brought in 100 of something to show to the class. Karsten brought in 100 legos and 100 beans.

~Cut out 100 snowflakes

~100 clipboard questions

~100 dice roll game

~Karsten was excited because he had his first "optional" homework assignment. If he completes it he gets a prize.

After we talked about his day, he said he's been working on a workbook at school that he'll bring home at the end of the school year. He said it is soo fun and that I will love it. I can't wait. I'm so glad he loves school!

Another Snowstorm

Another snowstorm (ughh..the sidewalks had just melted!), another snow creation. But, this time the traditional snowman was ok...except Morgan thought he needed some hair. I like it :) (I thought I got a better picture than I did. And you may have to enlarge the photo to notice his hairdo. He grew more hair after I took the photos).
