Catch of the Day

We finally moved into our new place in Illinois. Aunt Ashley and Mimi came for a visit and we took them fishing at our neighborhood lake. Check out the last picture. Karsten caught his first fish!!

After Ash came to Illinois, we went down to St. Louis. Here the kids were posing with Aunt Ashley at the park.

GARRETT DEAN

Welcome baby Garrett! Garrett was born April 29th at 5:11pm. He weighed 8lbs and was 20 1/4 inches long. He has been such a good little baby. Karsten and Morgan adore him and have been big helpers. They love to hold him. Karsten in constantly telling him how much he loves him. Here are some pictures from his first 2 weeks.

Karsten loves to hold him... Thanks Aunt Jon & Julia for the package of fun toys!! This has kept them occupied all week!

They love to watch Garrett sleep...

...And he does love to sleep...

The kids meet Garrett for the first time. It went WAY better than expected :)

An hour old (or so)

Yeah! He's here (and my epidural worked!)
Proud dad!

Kentucky was a long time ago.....

I know, I know. Thanks, Ashley, for the reminder..... that our trip to Kentucky was a LONG time ago. We have done a lot of fun things and have been busy since that trip to Kentucky, but I have no pictures to prove it since our camera takes quite pathetic pictures I don't bother with it anymore. Don't worry, a new one has been purchased but hasn't arrived yet (that story could be a post in itself--although many of you have heard it already, lucky you :). That is also why no Christmas cards went out this year....what fun is a card without a picture? And forget attempting professional photography-- so, I'm planing a letter later in the year to pass along our new address and to announce the arrival of baby (boy) #3 due in April.
Here is one of my many attempts at a Christmas picture. I almost had it!
We had a pretty good snowstorm a few weeks ago and school was off for 4 days. Karsten went out to play one morning. Morgan had a bad cough, so we stayed inside and played. We put her hair up in a ponytail for the first time and she was happy to show it off:
Karsten's New Years Celebration with his some of his friends.

Sometimes Karsten likes to climb into bed with Morgan in the morning. The other day when Karsten was at school, Morgan came down with the fire chief's hat on and the clothes in her hand and asked for help getting dressed. Karsten wasn't very happy when he got home and saw she was wearing his clothes, but she had fun.

Our trip to Kentucky

A few weeks ago we went to Southern Kentucky to go hiking. We stayed two nights and had a great time. The hikes were a little difficult when carrying Morgan up and down thousands of stairs, but we still had fun and enjoyed great weather. Luckily, the water was really low and the weather was warm enough we could wade out into the water.

Cute siblings. Karsten was worried Morgan would fall off the big rock they were standing on...
Karsten and Theron enjoyed trying to catch crawfish and see what other life they could find swimming around. Morgan enjoyed splashing and following Karsten around.
Here we are on one of our hikes to a small waterfall.
I think Morgan is handing out a kiss for the camera. As long as she had a water bottle and the lid to put on and off and on and off, she was happy.

A view of Cumberland Falls in the background. This is the only location in the Western Hemisphere that has Moonbows during the full moon. Unfortuantely, the Moonbow occured a few days after we left.

Funny Pictures

Can you tell what Karsten is doing? We get really creative with our chalk art, thanks to dad!
This picture just makes me laugh. Morgan did this all on her own. The sad thing is she really could almost fit into my size.
