Karsten's Igloo

So, as a result of the 11+ inches of snow we got last weekend, Karsten and Theron built a snow Igloo. Karsten played outside for hours every day. Here he is peaking through the window
We caught him climbing up onto the Igloo. Karsten is not your typical daredevil boy, so this is actually quite out of character for him.
The Igloo finally melted a few days ago.

The Circus

Oh so fun! Karsten and Mom went on a little date to the circus about a week ago. We had a huge snowstorm the day we were planning to go. I checked to venue and they said the show will go on. The arena was about 4 miles from our house, so I figured the worse the weather, the more we would have the place to ourselves. Sure enough, there were no more than 400 people in this huge arena! We had great seats--about 10 rows back, center stage. It was no surprise that the Trapeze was Karsten's favorite "event". The Lions came in a close second (unfortunately, my pictures of the Trapeze didn't turn out so well.
At intermission, Karsten had the choice of either an Elephant or a Pony ride. He was excited to ride the elephant, so we waited in line and he got on the elephant. I was getting my camera ready to take a great picture.....and next I know he had jumped off and was standing right by me. He freaked out that some stranger (and not me) had placed him on the elephant. ...so we go to ride a Pony. I give them his ticket and proceed to the Ponys. They are running ...."Are you going to stop them...and help this kid get on??"....nope, I have to throw him on a moving pony, stepping in all sorts of pony doodoo, hang on to Karsten so he wouldn't fall off into the doodoo....and he rode for all of 15 seconds. What a waste of $7!!

Sweet Dreams!

Here is Karsten saying good-night to Morgan this evening:
"Good night, sweet dreams, don't let the bed bugs bite"
{As he gives her a hug} You're a cute girl!
Good night, I love you, I hope the Polar Express train doesn't come and wake you up....

It all goes back to the Polar Express....still....

George Washington

Karsten learned about George Washingtion and Abraham Lincoln in preschool this month. Morgan had her first bubble bath recently and Karsten was trying to be fun and decided to decorate Morgan with Bubbles. This was the outcome. Karsten thought she looked like George. What do you think?? (She obviously did NOT enjoy this bath. She hated the bubbles and probably the fact that they were ALL over her head)

Our Play day

Here are a few pictures from our "day at the beach" this week. It was almost 20 degrees outside when we headed to the waterpark. We figured since we didn't have passports in time to get to a real beach, we'd at least pretend we were at the beach by a trip to the local indoor waterpark. We basically had the place to ourselves for 5 hours. We had a great time!

Here's Karsten (& daddy... what a daredevil)--

The humpty dumpty look-a-like. I know, what torture. Whoah..watch out cleavage:)

Thanks Uncle Fal!!

Thanks Uncle Fal for the awesome hat! For those of you who don't recognize this infamous creature, it's Punxsutawney Phil-- who saw his shadow yet again this year. Uncle Fal went to the ceremonial Forecasting on Groundhogs day and bought us this cool hat. I was quite disappointed to hear that Phil lives in the local zoo and was brought out for the 30,000+ visitors in a CAGE! What a let down in my opinion.
